Why Can’t I?
The broad general answer to this question is because WordPress hosting provides a level of service that is supplemented by the Jetpack suite of plugins. The fun stuff “Likes” and “Who Liked Me?” come from the Jetpack suite which uses cookies to tell WordPress who you are. This is generally considered a no-no by Windows browsers like Chrome and Firefox (it’s called 3rd party cookies).
For mobile devices, the problems seem to be that the Operating Systems don’t know what to do until you download the Jetpack app on your IPhone/iPad. Once installed you will login to WordPress through Jetpack and you should be able to Comment and Like.
How do I login?
Go to https://wordpress.com/ and either use a previous login and password or create a new account. Once logged in you should be able to return to gtprefugees.com and post replies and likes as you feel the need. There is a question of persistent logins. If you’ve not used the site for a while it may be that you have to login to WordPress again. Some mobile users record that the Jetpack app is not consistently keeping them logged in. If you have a setting that says “Keep me logged in” say yes.
I’m logged in, I think, and the #$%&&%$ thing still doesn’t work, what do I do?
If you are a mobile user, and you’ve downloaded the Jetpack app, you should get a login to WordPress.com popup on your screen. Login using the details of your account and press “Next” until you are returned to GTPRefugees.com You should be able to Comment and Like.
If you are a Windows user and you try to Comment/Like and don’t see the WordPress.com login popup, go to the privacy/security setting of your browser. Firefox and Chrome are very similar. In Firefox you will proceed to Browser Privacy screen and scroll down until you see the “Cookies and Data” block. Choose the Manage Exceptions button to customize your settings.

Here you’ll add https:\\gtprefugees.com to the list and “Allow” all cookies for the site. Be sure and save your entry.

Next we’ll want to take care of Popups. You will want to enable Popups for the whole site so when you get to this screen, put in https://gtprefuggees.com, and save. It should look like this:

The #%%^& thing still doesn’t work:
Go to the History setting of your browser and clear your “Cookies and Site Data” for at least one day. Refresh the site and you should be in business.
The #%%^&%$&&^$# thing still doesn’t work:
I blame Bobo. In all seriousness, most of the issues coalesce around popups and 3rd party cookies. Google search these for your O.S. and browser and then follow Google’s instructions for clearing the problems. If after doing all of this and it still doesn’t work, the issues are at the other end. We have no control of the other end.
I’m tired of being Anonymous, what do I do?:
Ready to come out of the darkness and into the light to share your opinions with your own custom handle? Click here: https://wordpress.com/me You should be presented with a screen that looks something like this, minus the good looking devil:

Edit the field entitled Public Display name to whatever unique handle you can come up with and save the results. Your handle should be displayed whenever you make comments in the future.
