Reseeding the CWS Would Result in Another SEC Tournament?

Check the crowd pop on this one:

I would’ve paid good money to see this as COSM in Atlanta, provided they had this view of the game from the venue.

Go Dawgs…meanwhile, here’s the matchups for the CWS:

Yes, that’s right…All-SEC on one side of the bracket. Hmm. What would it look like with a reseeded bracket:

#1 Georgia vs. #8 Troy

#2 UNC vs. #7 Oklahoma

#3 Texas vs. #6 Ole Miss

#4 Alabama vs. # 7 West Virginia

Then it would just be an All-SEC CWS, would it not?

Just imagine…also imagine if the Supers were reseeded…some different outcomes could’ve occurred:

1 Georgia vs. 16 Little Rock

2 Auburn vs. 15 Cal Poly

3 UNC vs 14 Troy

4 Texas vs. 13 St. John’s

5 Alabama vs. 12 Oklahoma

6 Oregon vs. 11 USC

7 Mississippi State vs. 10 Ole Miss

8 Kansas vs. 9 West Virginia

Well…guess what…you still would’ve only had five SEC teams in the CWS brackets…and Auburn would’ve been one of them…plus you would’ve had a B1G team in it, too.

Nah, maybe I like it just the way it is.

  1. I’m torn on the reseeding topic. I definitely don’t think the Super Regionals should be reseeded, but go back and forth on whether they should reseed once they get to Omaha. I tend to think I lean towards reseeding more of Georgia is in it. I don’t think I care as much whether they do when Georgia isn’t in Omaha. Because of that I think they should probably just leave it like it is.

  2. Play who you play. Sanitizing things due to the feelings of losers won’t solve anything. UGA had, to many fans; challenging start times, a challenging opponent very familiar with us and down a starter due to suspension and guess what? Ball don’t lie. Had it gone the other way, seeding ain’t the problem; it woulda been performance. You think Rhino Jackson gave a rip roarin’ rat’s rear end who the enemy was when his mission was to put the ball in play? Play who you play, give all, meet the standard – the purest way to live with the results.

  3. I was not real happy with the Dawgs drawing Texass right off the bat, but my wife said, “why not, we’ll get them on out of the way”. I like her way of thinking.

      • Upon removing mine Red n Black sunglasses, reseeding doesn’t get Mickey the commercial impact needed, cause if it did, Mickey would, soooooooooooooo Mickey just comes straight out the shoot and has UGA vs texass with 8 o’clock start time, which is gonna be a 3.5-4 hour affair, loser comes back with a short turn around…Kinda’ whined over the texass match up and realized…Fuck it, lets take ’em as we have all year, one at a time…not overly impressed with the medias take on UGA baseball, most take UGA’s opponent and high light some strengths, where as those opponents have to face reality of what/who UGA baseball is and what they can/will do…GO DAWGS!!

        • From mid February to now, really impressed with this team/staff progression, navigating the sec, was really impressed with UGA baseball head man Mr. Wes Johnson on his dealing with the team, staff, past players/staff, fan base, not to mention the human emotions he went through Sunday evening, it really did expose him as to who he is, as a person…GO DAWGS!!

  4. You eventually gotta beat everyone. Might as well start off with a tougher team. When you get to this stage, it’s more about who is catching fire…and Georgia is certainly one of those teams! Go Dawgs! #Dawgsvsthefield

  5. The east alabama reform school for wayward chill’ren at auburn was the only home team to lose a super regional.
    and…
the north avenue trade school ain’t going to Omaha!!
