The SEC: It Just Means Venmo

ICYMI, there’s a kerfuffle around some transactions that people (my eyes are on you, Longhorns) could see on the Oklahoma signal caller’s Venmo transactions, causing a stir around whether Mateer will be eligible since sports gambling is a no-no in the NCAA. The transactions were between Mateer and a fellow Washington State lineman in 2022, for what it’s worth.

I have to believe that no one’s this stupid, but in a world where Dan Mullen continues to hold gainful employment in college football, anything’s possible.

Also, consider this your Auburn sucks post for the day.

  1. DEFINITELY the best venmo screen grab of a transaction ever pastor Freeze.
Mateer’s response is those comments in his venmo account were DEFINITELY meant to be taken as a joke.

  2. Betting between friends is an NCAA violation or just betting with a bookie/casino? Pretty stupid rule if the former is also included. Can’t imagine the punishment – if there is one – is harsh. But his buddy Dick Rotten has some splainin to do.
