In my quest to try to figure out why some people voted for someone that many of us saw as unfit for the most menial of jobs, the quote from Upton Sinclair comes to mind, “It is difficult to get a man to understand something when his salary depends upon his not understanding it.”

      I remember a poster earlier saying his job was based on the oil industry, so the EV evolution impacts his ability to earn money. I get it. While for many of us it would be impossible to cross the ethical line and vote our pocketbook and not our conscience, I can see the other point of view.

I can see as an anarchist how voting for an incompetent leader who in turn would appoint the most incompetent department heads and staff would fit perfectly with the destruction of government.       Some 30 years back I had a friend whose dad was ex-military and had carved out a compound on the Ocmulgee. A hundred plus acres as I recall and at the time the river was still pristine.       So, my personal question is, are you in a comparable situation? Are you done with all of us that don’t see the world as you do, believe as you do, hold the same values dear? Are you ready to wipe the slate clean, survival of the fittest, and he who has the most bullets survives? We already know that he who wins writes the history. or doesn’t write it as in the case of the Epstein files.

          While I share your concern for illegal immigrants, I do think the issue is nuanced. I think deporting “illegal” parents of children born here is a problem. Taking all available government resources (after Elon’s cuts) has put ATF, DEA and other agencies into a fray that they were not trained for, and, at the costs of their jobs not getting done. Don’t we still want to stop fentanyl coming into the country? This year’s seizures are at an all-time low.
          Getting to the founding fathers, George Washington was one of, if not the richest men in the Colonies. His battle for freedom for the masses also freed him from a bunch of taxes. He did step away after two terms. Do you think that will be true of the Donald, or will he still have deals to be made and grudges to settle?

My comments regarding Drag Queen story hour and biological males in women’s spaces were not biographical, they were expressions of my opinion on those topics and the knee-jerk reaction of liberals to label people who express those opinions as homophobes and transphobes.

            Regarding Washington’s motives for fighting for our independence, I must admit “paying less taxes” was not on my bingo card.     Fentanyl correlation: If the supply has dried up because of the reduced illegal crossings, might we expect a “Panic in Needle Park” soon, or do we acknowledge that drugs can/do flow independently of migration?
    Lastly, do we acknowledge if there were no jobs for the workers that the trip might not be worthwhile? Should we crack down as hard on the employers as we do the workers?

      As for the fentanyl, I was addressing your claim that the record low seizures of fentanyl at the border was because of funding. Border seizures are down because border crossings are down. Pretty easy concept to grasp. At no point did I say the flow of fentanyl had completely been stopped or that border crossings were the SOLE means of getting it into the US. But I did read a story the other day that stated fentanyl overdoses were declining, so there’s that.

      I have always been a strong supporter of E-verify. I have friends (neighbors general contracting co) and family members (brother in law’s roofing co) who have lost businesses because they refused to employ cheap illegal labor and therefore could not compete with those who did. If they cannot get a job here and we do not put them on the dole, they will have no choice but to return home voluntarily. Punishing employers should be a no-brainer, but unfortunately, too many politicians and businessmen on both sides of the aisle are making too much money at the expense of the American workers. Cheap labor is their fentanyl and they are hooked. Don’t look for that issue to be resolved any time soon.

The ICE and BP agents were conducting arrest operations for known illegal felons and had legal criminal warrants (NOT detainers), while the CHP officers were responding to a closure of the 105 freeway by violent protesters. The ICE and BP agents were able to extricate themselves and their targets eventually. The CHP were trapped under an overpass by violent Democrats throwing rocks, which destroyed vehicles and injured a CHP officer. And it’s not surprising you know absolutely nothing about this……it’s not lefty approved information suitable for dissemination to their minions. Once again, you prove your cluelessness.
